Each year we spend roughly £13.5billion on heating our homes in the UK. Around three quarters of all energy used in UK homes is through heating space and water. With the rising cost of oil and gas, people are looking for alternative ways to heat their homes. As accredited Ecodan installers, we’re proud to be able to offer a cost-efficient, tried and tested, renewable heating solution!
How does it work?
The Ecodan air source heat pump has been heating homes throughout the UK for over a decade, and the technology it uses has been available even longer, in your fridge! The air source heat pump however, works in reverse.
It sits outside your home in the garden and takes free, renewable energy from the air and upgrades it to provide all the heat and hot water your home could ever need! Having been specifically designed for the UK climate and works in temperatures as low as minus 25 degrees Celsius!
Just like traditional water heating, Ecodan systems use a cylinder that distributes the hot water throughout your house. And this leading technology can be controlled by wall mounted displays, remote controls, or even a handy app on your phone.
Are grants available?
Air source heat pumps are classed as a renewable technology, meaning that they qualify for payments on the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI), the government initiative to promote renewable heat. If you take an average 4 bedroom semi-detached home, you can expect to see payments of around £7000 over the next seven years.
We also offer meter and monitoring service packages which can increase your RHI payments by £1500, so with the RHI, installation pays for itself!
Do I need to completely replace my heating system?
You can choose to either replace your current heating entirely, or add an Ecodan air source heat pump to your current heating system and have them working together. And you’ll be pleased to know that it’s won awards for its super-quiet sounds, so there’s no need to worry about upsetting the neighbours!
The affordable, renewable and super-efficient solution creates 3kw of energy for every 1kw used, making it 300% efficient! Installing an air source heat pump means you’ll drastically decrease your carbon footprint, contribute to reaching the government’s climate change targets, all while sitting in your cosy home!
